1 day work experience placements (expenses covered)

Are you looking to gain experience on a professional film production? In association with Wigan Council we are offering a unique opportunity for 10 young people (aged 16-30) based in Leigh to gain work experience on the production of an upcoming feature documentary.

You will join an award-winning team over one day to observe the film shoot and gain an insight into how documentaries are made, we will also cover all out of pocket expenses.

What will I be working on?

You will have the opportunity to gain experience on the feature length documentary ‘Lottery Winners - Return to Leigh’ about four piece band Lottery Winners as they prepare for their homecoming show in Leigh in May 2026.

What you will receive

  • 1 x day work experience opportunity with full support and guidance by a team of award-winning filmmakers.

  • All reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

  • Credit on the feature documentary.

Eligibility

  • You do not need any prior experience but you must be able to demonstrate an interest in filmmaking in your application.

  • Priority will go to applicants with a home address in Leigh, Greater Manchester (WN7).

  • You must be aged 16-30 at the time of applying.

  • Work experience dates:
    15th / 16th / 17th / 22nd / 23rd / 24th April

    20th / 21st / 22nd / 31st May

  • Applications open: 24th March 2026

  • Applications close: 5pm, 8th April
    10 x work experience placements offered: 10th April
